About this Volume

Voices from the South seeks to demonstrate and discuss the reproduction of imperialist and colonial patterns in the mobility of students from the Global North to the Global South. It includes the voices of International Education professionals from Argentina, Chile, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Peru, Senegal, India, and Jordan that have extended experience working with US students and organizations. It passes the microphone to professionals who, based on their experiences and research, offer a rich, nuanced, and very current perspective on the challenges concerning colonial attitudes and behaviors in the field of international education. Voices from the South were carried out at the time of COVID-19. It results from transforming crises and uncertainty into collaborative, positive, and resilient work.
